Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis

1992 · Point-and-Click Adventure · PC

Overview

Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (1992) is LucasArts' SCUMM adventure in which Indy races Nazis to Atlantis, playable by one of three paths: team, wits or fists.

Deep Dive

In 1939, Indy and Sophia Hapgood search for Atlantis, while Nazi agents including Klaus Kerner and Dr. Hans Ubermann want its power for war. Early on the player chooses a path: Team, with Sophia as a partner; Wits, with harder puzzles; or Fists, with more action.

Developer Story

Hal Barwood led the project and wrote the story and script, and Noah Falstein devised the three paths. It came out in June 1992 for DOS, Amiga and Mac, and several publications named it the best adventure game of the year.

Did You Know?

  • A CD-ROM "talkie" edition with full voice acting followed in 1993.
  • It sold over a million copies, LucasArts' most successful adventure up to that point, according to Noah Falstein.
