Overview

Atic Atac (1983) is Ultimate Play the Game's castle maze for the ZX Spectrum, in which a wizard, knight or serf hunts for the three pieces of the Golden Key of ACG.

Deep Dive

The player is trapped in a castle of several floors and must find the three pieces of the Golden Key of ACG to escape. There are three characters to choose from — Wizard, Knight or Serf — each with a different weapon, a different grip on the floor and a secret passage only they can use. Health drains as the player moves and is restored by eating food, while poisonous fungi drain it on contact.

Developer Story

Tim Stamper wrote the game and Chris Stamper designed the graphics, and Ultimate released it for the ZX Spectrum in 1983. It entered the charts at number 5 in November 1983 and reached number 1. A BBC Micro version followed in 1985.
