Overview

Hyper Sports (1984) is Konami's sequel to Track & Field, with seven new events from swimming and skeet shooting to weightlifting and pole vault.

Deep Dive

Like Track & Field, the game uses two run buttons and an action button for each player, with each event needing its own timing. The seven events are swimming, skeet shooting, long horse, archery, triple jump, weightlifting and pole vault.

Developer Story

Konami released the game in Japan on 12 May 1984, with Centuri publishing it in North America. Home versions followed for the ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC, BBC Micro and MSX, several of them without the pole vault.
