Overview

Skool Daze (1984) is Microsphere's ZX Spectrum school simulation, in which Eric must steal his report card from the staff-room safe without collecting 10,000 lines.

Deep Dive

Eric is a pupil at a British school who needs to get his report card out of the safe in the staff room. Teachers such as the headmaster Mr Wacker and Mr Creak the history master hand out lines when they catch him misbehaving — and sometimes when they don't, such as being knocked to the floor. Reaching 10,000 lines gets Eric expelled. Before the game starts, the player can rename every character.

Developer Story

Skool Daze was a family production: David Reidy designed it on paper, his wife Helen typed in the code, and family friend Keith Warrington, then a graphic design student, drew the characters. It was released for the ZX Spectrum in 1984 and the Commodore 64 in 1985, and followed by Back to Skool.
