Overview

The Magical Quest (1992) is Capcom's Super NES platformer, in which Mickey changes into magician, firefighter and climber outfits to rescue Pluto from Emperor Pete.

Deep Dive

Mickey defeats enemies by jumping on them or throwing blocks, and changes outfits for new powers: a magician's, a firefighter's that sprays water, and climbing gear with a grappling hook. The whole adventure turns out to be a dream.

Developer Story

Capcom released it in Japan in November 1992 and in North America that December. Critics praised its graphics and outfits but found it short and easy. Two sequels followed, and a planned Mega Drive version was dropped.
