Overview

Zombies Ate My Neighbors (1993) is LucasArts' two-player monster-movie run and gun, in which Zeke and Julie save their neighbours with bazookas, weed-whackers and soda cans.

Deep Dive

Zeke and Julie rescue neighbours from the monsters of Dr. Tongue across 48 stages, seven of them optional bonus levels. Weapons include bazookas, weed-whackers, exploding soda cans and fire extinguishers.

Developer Story

Mike Ebert designed it, with music by Joe McDermott and George Sanger, and Konami published it on the Super NES and Genesis in 1993. Reviewers praised its humour and two-player mode, and it became a cult classic. Ghoul Patrol followed in 1994.

Did You Know?

  • In Europe it was called Zombies, and chainsaw-wielding enemies became axe-wielding lumberjacks.
  • Nintendo of America had the blood and gore removed.
