Overview

Jumping Flash! (1995) is a first-person PlayStation platformer starring Robbit, a mechanical rabbit that can jump three times in mid-air. Guinness World Records lists it as the first platform game in true 3D.

Deep Dive

The astrophysicist Baron Aloha hides the twelve jet pods that power the worlds of Crater Planet, and Robbit, a mechanical rabbit sent by Universal City Hall, must recover them. Robbit can jump up to three times in mid-air, and on the second and third jumps the camera tilts down so the player can judge the landing. Each world has three levels and a boss, for 18 main levels, and each level has a ten-minute limit.

Developer Story

Koji Tada directed the game at Exact and Ultra, and Sony released it in Japan on 28 April 1995. Jumping Flash! 2 followed in 1996 and Robbit Mon Dieu in 1999.
