Overview

Captain Commando (1991) is Capcom's four-player beat 'em up starring its former American mascot, with a mummy-like alien, a ninja and a baby in a robot as his companions.

Deep Dive

In the Metro City of 2026, Captain Commando and his three Commando Companions fight crime and the alien Scumocide. The captain fights with energy gloves; Mack the Knife is a mummy-like alien with knives; Ginzu is a ninja, the only one who throws shuriken; and Baby Head is a genius infant in a robot. Following Final Fight's formula, up to four players fight through nine stages, and they can climb into robots that punch, burn or freeze enemies.

Developer Story

Yoshiki Okamoto produced the game, Akira Yasuda and Junichi Ohno designed it and Masaki Izutani composed the music. Capcom released it in North America in September 1991 as its 17th CP System game, and it sold about 15,000 arcade units.
