Overview
Vigilante 8 (1998) is Luxoflux's car-combat game set in an alternate 1975, where trucker Convoy's Vigilantes fight an oil cartel's gang across the American West.
Deep Dive
The Vigilantes battle the Coyotes, mercenaries working for the Oil Monopoly Alliance Regime, across stages in the western United States. Every vehicle has a machine gun and can carry up to three of five weapon types.
Developer Story
Activision published it on the PlayStation in June 1998, followed by Nintendo 64 and Game Boy Color versions. The PlayStation and N64 versions were well reviewed, at 86% and 83% on GameRankings.
