Twisted Metal (1995) is SingleTrac's PlayStation car-combat game, in which drivers fight in Calypso's tournament for the prize of a wish.
Twelve vehicles battle with missiles, mines and oil slicks across six arenas, with three lives and health stations to restore damage. Drivers are invited by email reading "WILL YOU DRIVE?", and the last one standing gets a wish. A two-player Duel mode is included.
Michael D. Jackson directed it, with David Jaffe and Mike Giam designing. It came out in North America in November 1995 and sold over a million copies there. Critics liked the action and variety but found the single-player mode short.
