Overview

Thunder Cross (1988) is Konami's horizontal shooter, in which the Thunder fighter lines up to four option pods and switches between Vulcan, Laser and ricocheting Boomerang shots.

Deep Dive

The seven stages each end with a boss. Up to four options can be collected; they line up vertically and fire on command. After the seventh stage the game loops into a harder version, so it must be beaten twice.

Developer Story

Konami released it in Japan in October 1988 and abroad in 1989. Game Machine ranked it the second most successful table arcade unit in its December 1988 issue. Hamster later re-released it on PlayStation 4 and Switch.
