Mario Paint (1992) is Nintendo's drawing, animation and music-making package for the Super NES, sold with the Super NES Mouse, and one of the console's best sellers.
It combines a paint program with 15 colours, 75 patterns and 120 stamps, a simple animation tool of four to nine frames, a music composer with 15 instrument sounds and Gnat Attack, a minigame of swatting flies.
Hirofumi Matsuoka directed it under producer Gunpei Yokoi, with music by Hirokazu Tanaka, Ryoji Yoshitomi and Kazumi Totaka. It came out in Japan in July 1992 and was later followed by the Mario Artist series on the 64DD.
