Magic Carpet (1994) is Bullfrog's 3D action game, in which a wizard on a flying carpet collects mana and builds a castle to restore balance to each world.
The player is a wizard on a flying carpet, gathering mana, building a castle and returning each world to "equilibrium". The carpet moves through three dimensions like a helicopter and climbs automatically over obstacles rather than crashing. Two spells can be ready at once, one in each hand, and stored mana lets the castle grow and stronger spells be cast. The box promised 50 worlds, but the game has 45, because five level numbers were skipped.
Bullfrog developed it with Sean Cooper among the programmers and Russell Shaw composing. EA released it for MS-DOS in 1994, followed by Magic Carpet 2: The Netherworlds in 1995 and PlayStation and Saturn versions in 1996. Computer Gaming World gave it five stars out of five.
