Overview

G-Police (1997) is Psygnosis's combat flight game set in the domed cities of Jupiter's moon Callisto, where a pilot joins the police to investigate his sister's death.

Deep Dive

In 2097, on the colonised moon Callisto, Slater joins the G-Police to investigate the apparent suicide of his sister Elaine, which he believes was murder. The story grows from gang warfare into a conflict between the corporations Krakov and Nanosoft. The player flies a VTOL gunship — "a helicopter without the rotors" — through 35 missions, mostly inside urban domes, often scanning vehicles to tell criminals from civilians.

Developer Story

A Psygnosis studio in Stroud developed the game, and it was released for the PlayStation in October 1997 and Windows in November. G-Police: Weapons of Justice followed in 1999.
