Overview

The G.G. Shinobi (1991) is Sega's Game Gear ninja game, in which the Red Shinobi rescues four fellow ninjas and can then switch between them, with music by Yuzo Koshiro.

Deep Dive

Joe Musashi, the Red Shinobi, must free four kidnapped ninjas held in different stages. Each one rescued joins as a playable character with their own weapon, ninjutsu and ability. It is loosely based on The Revenge of Shinobi.

Developer Story

Katsuhiro Hasegawa and Masahide Kobayashi designed it, and Sega released it in Japan in April 1991 and abroad that summer.
