Super Hang-On (1987) is Yu Suzuki's sequel to Hang-On, a motorbike racer across four continents with a turbo button and a choice of music.
Courses run through Africa (6 stages), Asia (10), the Americas (14) and Europe (18). At 280 km/h the turbo kicks in, pushing top speed to 324 km/h. As in Out Run, the player picks one of four songs before setting off.
Suzuki designed it at Sega R&D1, keeping the sit-on motorbike cabinet of the original. It was Japan's second-highest-grossing upright arcade game of 1987, behind Out Run, and was ported to home computers in 1987 and the Mega Drive in 1989.
