Overview

Stunt Car Racer (1989) is Geoff Crammond's racer on elevated tracks with no barriers and gaps to jump, Your Sinclair's game of 1989.

Deep Dive

Falling into a gap costs time while a crane lifts the car back. Turbo is rationed per race, and damage from hard landings, crashes and collisions can wreck the car. A single-player league of four divisions builds towards winning division one.

Developer Story

Crammond designed it, and MicroProse published it under its MicroStyle label in 1989 for the Amiga, Atari ST, Commodore 64, MS-DOS and ZX Spectrum. Critics widely praised it, especially the Commodore 64 version's 3D vector graphics.
