Effect: Grants the player a full set of power-ups at the start of the game.

Programmer Kazuhisa Hashimoto created the code while testing the notoriously difficult NES port of Gradius and forgot to remove it before release. Players discovered it quickly and word spread through schoolyard trading and gaming magazines. The sequence became one of the most recognised button combinations in pop culture, appearing in dozens of subsequent Konami titles and eventually referenced in films, television, and advertising worldwide.
