1992 · Action Platformer · NES
Little Samson was one of the final NES releases — a polished action platformer with four different weapons, excellent animation, and production values that demonstrated what the NES hardware could produce when developers had mastered it after a decade of experience.
Little Samson showcased NES hardware capabilities at their peak: smooth scrolling, detailed sprites, varied enemy designs, and a bell-weapon mechanic that allowed different attack patterns. Released in 1992, it came out just as the SNES was becoming the dominant platform.
Little Samson was developed by Takeru and published by Taito in 1992. Its late NES release date contributed to low commercial performance despite strong design quality.
